Edge of The Blue Lagoon near Grindavik, Iceland. The entire country takes advantage of geothermal water resources. This spa area is created near their local power plant. The area is threatened by earthquakes and lavas flows just under the surface. Even though I’m back in Florida, I watch news and video reports of the area to see all of the environmental issues that plague that area. The lagoon in particular is a high tourist spot and contributes a lot to the Icelandic Economy. There are many controversies about safety vs. economy when it comes to decisions about its openings and closings.

This photograph is more about color, texture and composition. The creaminess of the water is unlike any I have ever seen before, and the color blue is beautiful especially against the red color of the lava rock.
