White Linens
2015
Cinque Terre, Italy
Soft sunlight filters through the soft white linens that were hung out the window to dry. The gentle breeze carries with it the scent of fresh air and the distant sounds of the Italian countryside, creating a sense of tranquility and serenity.
The open window invites viewers to pause and imagine themselves enjoying the simple pleasures of Italian living. It is a scene that evokes feelings of warmth, relaxation, and contentment, inviting viewers to escape into the idyllic beauty of the Italian landscape.
White Linens is printed using traditional high-quality methods. It will be printed on Kodak’s Metallic Photographic paper. I use this paper for most of my prints since I love the little glitter that it adds. Kodak’s Endura Metallic paper can put so much “pop” in the enlargements that they’ll look as if they were taken in 3D! The secret behind this amazing paper is literally behind the picture! Kodak has placed a silvery metallic surface under the dye image. This layer acts like a mirror, reflecting the light illuminating the front of the print back through the dyes. The result is a brilliant, almost translucent effect that can be far brighter than conventional enlargements. This paper is also stable in that it lasts 100 years in a typical home display, 200 years in dark storage and 1 to 5 years for commercial display (Quoted from Kodak’s Spec sheet).
