Hohensalzburg Fortress is enthroned on the Festungsberg, high above the rooftops of the Baroque historical district of Salzburg. The biggest fully preserved castle in Central Europe, this emblem of Salzburg offers a 360-degree view of the city and its surroundings. To visit you have to do a lot of walking and climbing. The fortress is huge, and I was struck by the large iron doors, not something you see in modern architecture.

The texture of the old rock walls create wonderful patterns and shadows. This photograph is perfect for anyone who appreciates European architecture and the charm of historic cities, this print adds a timeless and sophisticated touch to any room.

Iron Door to Castle, Salzburg, Austria will be printed on Kodak’s Metallic Photographic paper. I use this paper for most of my prints since I love the little glitter that it adds. Kodak’s Endura Metallic paper can put so much “pop” in the enlargements that they’ll look as if they were taken in 3D! The secret behind this amazing paper is literally behind the picture! Kodak has placed a silvery metallic surface under the dye image. This layer acts like a mirror, reflecting the light illuminating the front of the print back through the dyes. The result is a brilliant, almost translucent effect that can be far brighter than conventional enlargements.
