This photograph captures a serene morning in Hallstatt, Austria—a scene steeped in calm and quiet elegance. The village, nestled between dramatic alpine slopes, rests peacefully along the edge of a very still lake. A single, delicate layer of cloud hovers just above the water, like a soft veil suspended in midair, blurring the line between sky and reflection.

The lake’s surface is glasslike, reflecting the charming buildings, steep mountains, and low-hanging cloud with remarkable clarity. Muted tones dominate the palette—cool blues and grays tinged with the gentle golden light of early morning—enhancing the atmosphere of stillness.

The cloud’s presence adds a dreamlike quality, isolating the moment in a quiet pause before the day begins. It feels timeless, as if the village is holding its breath in reverence to the beauty of nature. The entire composition evokes a sense of peace, solitude, and quiet wonder.

Hallstatt Lake is printed using traditional high-quality methods. It will be printed on Kodak’s Metallic Photographic paper. I use this paper for most of my prints since I love the little glitter that it adds. Kodak’s Endura Metallic paper can put so much “pop” in the enlargements that they’ll look as if they were taken in 3D! The secret behind this amazing paper is literally behind the picture! Kodak has placed a silvery metallic surface under the dye image. This layer acts like a mirror, reflecting the light illuminating the front of the print back through the dyes. The result is a brilliant, almost translucent effect that can be far brighter than conventional enlargements. This paper is also stable in that it lasts 100 years in a typical home display, 200 years in dark storage and 1 to 5 years for commercial display (Quoted from Kodak’s Spec sheet). 

• Prints are made to order so please allow 2-3 weeks for shipping. Many times, I get them out quicker.
• It may be shipped rolled in a tube. You will be notified when it ships with tracking information.
