The Green Heron (Butorides virescens) is a small, stocky wading bird found in wetlands, marshes, and along the edges of lakes, rivers, and ponds throughout North and Central America. The Green Heron is one of the few bird species known to use tools. It occasionally drops small objects like feathers, twigs, or insects onto the water’s surface to lure fish closer—a behavior called “bait fishing.” The Green Heron is a beautiful example of adaptability and intelligence in the bird world, making it a favorite among bird enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Green Heron is printed using traditional high-quality methods. It will be printed on Kodak’s Metallic Photographic paper. I use this paper for most of my prints since I love the little glitter that it adds. Kodak’s Endura Metallic paper can put so much “pop” in the enlargements that they’ll look as if they were taken in 3D! The secret behind this amazing paper is literally behind the picture! Kodak has placed a silvery metallic surface under the dye image. This layer acts like a mirror, reflecting the light illuminating the front of the print back through the dyes. The result is a brilliant, almost translucent effect that can be far brighter than conventional enlargements. This paper is also stable in that it lasts 100 years in a typical home display, 200 years in dark storage and 1 to 5 years for commercial display (Quoted from Kodak’s Spec sheet).
