This photograph captures the rooftops of Florence, Italy, stretching beneath a crisp blue sky. A harmonious rhythm of terracotta tiles forms an undulating sea of warm reds and oranges, each roofline creating diagonal slashes that draw the eye across the frame. The repetition of shapes builds a sense of visual cadence. Domes and towers punctuate the skyline, their curved forms rising above the geometric patterns below, offering a striking juxtaposition of fluidity and structure. The linear composition and repeating architectural elements create a mosaic of textures and symmetry, highlighting the timeless elegance of Florence’s historic cityscape.

Architecture of Florence, Italy is printed using traditional high-quality methods. It will be printed on Kodak’s Metallic Photographic paper. I use this paper for most of my prints since I love the little glitter that it adds. Kodak’s Endura Metallic paper can put so much “pop” in the enlargements that they’ll look as if they were taken in 3D! The secret behind this amazing paper is literally behind the picture! Kodak has placed a silvery metallic surface under the dye image. This layer acts like a mirror, reflecting the light illuminating the front of the print back through the dyes. The result is a brilliant, almost translucent effect that can be far brighter than conventional enlargements. This paper is also stable in that it lasts 100 years in a typical home display, 200 years in dark storage and 1 to 5 years for commercial display (Quoted from Kodak’s Spec sheet).
